#HALSO district architect Vytautas Avietynas shares that the goal of the hillside development project was to create a residential quarter where the homes differ internally (in size and function), yet maintain a unified architectural expression and coherence.
“The form of the homes is minimalist – two clearly defined volumes with an emphasized living and shared space, while the garage and courtyard areas are subtly concealed.
Inside, the slope is also reflected – the shared area features a height drop that follows the natural incline of the hill.
The project uses durable materials: light, bold volumes in a color palette characteristic of Kalnėnai, warm wood accents, and large glass surfaces that open up the spaces.”
